LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- Hoteliers are ready to help in the renovation of the Valley hotel.
Anthony De Leon of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio (HRAB) said they are willing to help Mayor Edna Tabanda in her plans to make the government owned hotel ready to take in visitors.
De Leon said they are just waiting for specific instructions from the lady chief executive on how to assist the municipality in their plans.
Previously, Tabanda announced she has asked the private sector to help refurbish and improve services of the hotel to be able to cater to local, national and international visitors.
De Leon, who sits as HRAB president and Baguio Country Club general manager, said the association is more than willing to share their expertise with the highland town like what they have done with other institutions in the past.
The hotel was acquired by the local government and is the first hotel owned by the Valley. It is envisioned to serve as a venue for conferences and meetings as well as a transient home for guests, and it is at the center of the strawberry fields at kilometer 6.
The HRAB is a multi-sectoral group and stakeholders in the City of Baguio with a mission to become a leader in tourism and hospitality industry backed by training through the pooled resources of member establishments and support of local and line agencies with the objective of upgrading and standardizing skills and the delivery of service.
Tabanda said the renovation is important in order for the municipality to continue to bring guests in the hotel and become a tourism destination as well.
