Improvement of Pampanga hospitals in ‘full gear’-A A +A

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Governor Lilia Pineda said Tuesday that the improvement of the services, equipment and the facilities at the 10 districts hospitals and one provincial hospital of Pampanga is in "full gear."
The governor announced during the distribution of subsidies to barangay health care workers at the Lubao Gym that the enhancement of facilities at the government-run medical facilities is in line with efforts to decongest Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital (JBLMRH) in the City of San Fernando.
Pineda noted that Capitol paid JBLMRH some P82 million in the last three years for the bills for the at least 20,000 people, most of which belonged to the 55,328 poor households of the province.
"If the amount paid to JBLMRH could be reduced, the amount saved could be used for livelihood programs and other projects," she said.
The governor stressed that her administration -- with health care as its top priority -- will continue to help marginalized Kapampangans with their bills and needs at the regional hospital operated by the Department of Health.
Meanwhile, Board Member Crisostomo Garbo, chairman of the Provincial Board's committee on health, said the board supports the health care programs of Pineda.
