TOURISTS are not only interested to spend Holy Week in Baguio due to its cold weather but also for the chance to reflect and pray.

St. Vincent Ferrer Parish is ready to accommodate the faithful with a series of activities to commemorate the Lenten season.

The parish advised the public to be early during services because of its limited parking space.

Meanwhile, The United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP)-Baguio City unites with the whole Christendom as it commemorates the Passion of Christ.

“The Christian application is that, the Christians should live victoriously. Don’t cry, celebrate instead. Jesus was crucified but He rose again from the dead. That’s it. That’s the heart of Christianity - the resurrection of Jesus,” said Pastor Ramil Dew-alan.

On Maundy Thursday, Dew-alan said the congregation will gather for a service at 4 p.m. On Good Friday, worship service starts at 2 p.m. and they will be having a culminating activity for the celebration of Easter Sunday.

There will be a Sunrise Service at the Rose Garden at 5 a.m. on Easter Sunday.

An Easter Cantata concert featuring five services will also be conducted on that day. The Baguio-Benguet Ecumenical Group is set to perform also at the Rose Garden, twice in the morning and thrice in the afternoon. (Nikki Soriano-Colegio de Dagupan Intern/Nimfa Marie Cabulera)
