FORT DEL PILAR, Baguio City -- Philippine Military Academy incorporation rites are set.
On Saturday, the Cadet Corps, Armed Forces of the Philippines (CCAFP) will formally integrate the 335 new plebes from New Cadets Battalion (NCBN) to the cadet corps.
Formal Incorporation Rites will be given to the 335 new cadets at the Borromeo Field in Fort del Pilar.
Incorporation rites will be led by Lt. General Hernando Iriberri, Commanding General of the Philippine Army as the guest of honor and speaker.
PMA records show out of the 21,751 applicants and 1,455 successful examinees from all over the country, 345 of them, including a Thai cadet was formally received through traditional Reception Rites.
After completing the requirements for the training in the NCBN, 335 plebes composed of 243 males and 92 females will make it to the Incorporation Rites which will formally signal the joining of the members of PMA Class 2018 to the rest of the classes of CCAFP.
Thai National, Pongpeera Disapirom, is part of the 335 members of class 2018.
The selection process started when thousands of youth hopefuls took the highly competitive PMA Entrance Examinations last year.
Prior to their incorporation, they are placed under the New Cadets Battalion (NCBN) where they are initially given the orientation on the basic things they need to know about the military profession.
After 8 weeks of training, they are now ready to be incorporated to the regular corps where they are integrated with the rest of their three upperclassmen in the Academy.
