TWO drug personalities under the tight watch of authorities fell into the arms of the law during a search conducted by combined anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Cordillera and local police yesterday at Bangbangar, Bangued, Abra.
Arlene Castillo Landa alias Liberty, 43, and a resident of Bangbangar, Bangued, Abra and Jeffrey Bisares Nuñez alias Ekong, 39, and a foreman of a local electric cooperative were arrested after PDEA-CAR agents found prohibited drugs and paraphernalia in their residence during a search.
Confiscated during the operation were seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P35,000, several drug paraphernalia, an Armscor caliber .45 pistol and a magazine containing five ammunition.
Cases for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act Number 9165 otherwise known as the "Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002" will be filed against the suspects.
Suspects will also be charged for violating Republic Act Number 10591 or the "Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act". (PR)
