LAMUT, Ifugao -- All campuses of the Ifugao State University (IFSU) in the province are set to offer free tuition to students, who wish to finish a Baccalaureate degree starting this school year 2017 to 2018 which, opens this August.
The IFSU is one of the selected state universities and colleges in the country which exempt students from paying their tuition. The school allotted P24.286 million from the General Appropriation Act (GAA) to cover the free tuition for the first and second semesters of school year 2017 to 2018.
The no tuition policy will apply to all types of students like transferees, returnees and regular.
Scholarship grantees, academic or other grants are still covered with the free tuition fee. Fees from other grants will directly cover the student’s other fees. Excess of fees paid will be refunded to the student.
Ifugao State University was established by virtue of Republic Act 9720 signed by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on October 14, 2009.
The IFSU, which is headed by president Dr. Serafin Ngohayon, has six campuses in the municipalities of Lamut, Lagawe, Alfonso Lista, Aguinaldo, Hungduan and Tinoc. (PIA)
