RAY Ambler Baguilat is part of an elite five finalists for an airlines company’s nationwide photo and videography contest.

Baguilat bested over 500 entries to be chosen as part of the final five vying to be hailed as the next AirAsia Storyteller.

The airline company launched the nationwide search in July where over 500 submitted a one minute video about their home, based on the videos submitted, the 5 finalists were chosen to undergo a three-week “create camp.”

The create camp is the Philippines’ first social media reality show where netizens will be able to watch the finalists pursue their dreams of becoming an AirAsia Storyteller. All finalists underwent a rigorous photography, videographer, and traveling with a purpose boot camps together with the existing AirAsia Storytellers.

The create camp was held September 1 to September 21 in 4 locations with different themes; Bohol had the theme: Traveling with a purpose, Palawan: Portrait Photography, Cordillera: Landscape Photography and Tacloban with Videography.

Baguilat is a business student from the University of Baguio and also a part time financial advisor. In his free time he is a filmmaker and creates most of his content for entertainment and YouTube.

“To all my fellow videographers, filmmakers and passionate youths, keep doing what you love and always try to find inspiration, It can be found everywhere, wherever you are, even through the simplest things in life. Keep learning, be humble and inspire others as well.”

The winner will become the next AirAsia Storyteller with a cash prize of P 1,000,000 worth of AirAsia Flights, an Apple Macbook Pro 13” and a Nikon D5600 Camera with a 3 days and 2 nights accommodation at Amorita Resort in Bohol.

From the challenges will emerge one winner based on output from the locations set based on Composition and quality of the photo or video; Storytelling or how well was the story and content of the photo and video executed; Marketability and Commercial Appeal based on the how the public can easily digest and understood the output. Originality based on the uniqueness of the output.
