OVER 5,000 participants are expected to walk against breast cancer on November 14.
The Avon Walk against Breast Cancer was cancelled last October 17 to keep participants safe due to the onslaught of Typhoon Juan.
Ventures Club President Jane Irmscher is hoping there will be more participants who register for the event.
The socio-civic club is in tandem with the cosmetic company in staging the event for the second time in the city.
The event is dubbed "Step Out! Walk- Run against Breast Cancer,” aimed to drum up awareness for the disease in the hopes to prevent it through an awareness drive.
The 3-kilometer run is set to start at the SM City Rambakan Drive going down Session Road circling to Harrison road back to SM City Baguio.
Avon Philippines also earmarked for the breast cancer fund P5.00 from every sale of the Avon Natural Water Lily and Aloe skin lotion sold.
Ann Virtudazo Avon Zone Manager of the Sales Department said the 3,000 participants in 2007 may increase to over 5,000 now.
In 2007, Avon sponsored the same activity Dubbed as "I Walk with You.”
Because of the cancellation, the walk will be without boxing champ Manny
Pacquiao.
Pacquiao finished his training in the city and is now en route to the United States to train for his anticipated fight with Antonio Margarito in Las Vegas also in November.
