Love, prayers highlight Brown Madonna Feast


"A FAMILY that prays together, stays together," was the theme of the 23rd October4'sary anniversary celebration of the Shrine of the Brown Madonna held last Saturday at Sitio Pacac, Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet.

A holy mass concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Seraf Balmadres, Rev. Fr. Vicente Decoran and Rev. Fr. Joel Padoyao, spiritual advisers of the National Correspondents Club of Baguio (NCCB) offered the religious "thanksgiving event which also marked the fitting climax of the Rosary Month of October.

Sun.Star accepts donations for victims of Typhoon Ondoy

Over a hundred Mama Mary devotees attended the joyous affair, which was capped with a fellowship "kanyao" jointly hosted by the three gentle priests from St. Vincent Ferrer Church at Campo Filipino, City Camp and from Don Bosco Parish Churches.

During the mass hymns of joy and praises to the Lord were sang by the St. Vincent Parish Knights of Columbus choir. Ifugao tribesmen from Km. 6, Asin Road together with Rev. Frs.

Joel and Vicente led as gong beaters while an array of devotees danced with gusto to the frenzied tune of gongbeats.

"Kanyao" boiled meat, tapuey and rice complimented the menu for lunch.

All together, October4'sary was another memorable and prayerful endeavor for peace and solidarity. (Angel Villaralvo)
