People with impact

PEOPLE with positive impact are the remarkable ones! They bring sense, strength and direction to a team, group or organization. They contribute well and introduce significant changes to the team. They are assets of their organizations as they radiate the qualities of a good leader. They are role players and willing to be at the forefront in resolving problems that may arise. They are always motivated to do more and addicted in discovering unique and efficient ways as they share outstanding service to other people. They effect positive impact into the lives of other people not because they were told to do so but mainly because of a self-imposed standard of naturally doing such.
What it takes then to be an impact person? To be such is the result of choosing a GREAT attitude. The trait of being exemplary and even striving more, which encompasses to the tenets of living for the sake of others.
For this reason that I’ve coined an acronym for GREAT which stands for; Guided with principles, Responsible, Excellence, Action-oriented and Tenacious. Impact persons are always guided with good values as their basis in their daily agendas in life. They always conceptualize, act and accomplish things with purpose. They aim for higher version of living their lives to the fullest, which is in consonant with righteous societal standards.
Being responsible is already a normal trait to them. They love accepting responsibilities without any reservation and more often creating them. They are the type of persons who would say yes to challenge and use them to further advance their personal and societal excellence. They understand that handling responsibility means doing it with utmost sincerity and maintaining a good heart of honest service. They don’t complain, instead they welcome life challenges as their springboard to success.
Excellence is one paramount pillar possessed by impact persons. They carry the credo of “no other option than to be excellent”. They are masters in dealing with various situations and yet open to more learning. They are great leaders not because somebody told them to be such. They have developed the passion of imprinting indelible mark into the hearts of other people through excellent service. All their plans, actions, family and social dealings are sealed with excellence.
Impact persons are also good planners, but as they plan, they significantly act. They have crafted their own definition of planning, which connotes that true planning is learning how to do it now. They understand that good plan combined with great action delivers sterling result, but to maintain it, constant assessment to discover rooms for improvement is a must.
Tenacity is one attribute of an impact person. They have developed that sheer determination of doing the extra mile. They accomplished things in an extra ordinary way! They always consider each moment as an opportunity to grow leading to social attainment. They are persistent in making great difference for themselves and into the lives of other people. Above all, they maintain a good stand in life serving as their master brand and trademark, which nobody could just change.
I’d like to believe that our country Philippines will soon become a nation of GREAT people and of positive impact. A nation whose citizens are all makers of affirmative changes. A country comprised of people whose primordial aspirations are for the advancement of our nation.
Believing in ourselves is the first step and it’s only a matter of time that the whole universe will conspire to follow. We shall take action now for other nationalities will never come here to effect progress to our country. Let us be united as one big Filipino Family in advancing our country in the real arena of development.
Meanwhile, my highest felicitations to the graduates, parents, teachers headed by School Principal Virginia B. Salio-an and the whole community of Balili, Mankayan, Benguet for the opportunity you have given to me to deliver message during your 12th Graduation Exercises and Closing Program.
Special thanks to my manang Alejandrina Montes Malute and to Mrs. Montes whom I considered as a foster mother. I also enjoyed exchanging of thoughts with Mr. Quidno, the School Principal of Lepanto National High School. To all of you there, thank you and keep moving forward carrying the light of “BAYANIHAN”! Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the invitation of San Luis Elementary School for it was the same day that I was in Mankayan, nonetheless, thank you very much and my sincerest congratulations.
Finally, my highest regards to the Organizers of the Longayban Festival in Patiacan, Quirino, Ilocos Sur, which was celebrated on April 09 and 10, 2011. Patiacan is a remote place located within the tri-boundaries of Quirino, Ilocos Sur, Tubo, Abra and Besao, Mountain Province though people are Kankanaeys. It’s our beloved place including Baguio City Mayor Morris Gamsao Domogan. To Kabsat Milan, Maestro Kipoy, SK Chairman Cristy and Punong Barangay Rene Ocampo and the rest of the Patiacan Forces, NAULNOS AY PATYAKANG!
Think about this: Real development can only be truly achieved by citizens whose intention is for the welfare of the whole nation. PEOPLE progress is the key to national DEVELOPMENT!
