A CHILD’S DREAM, (www.achildsdream.ph) Baguio’s 1st Pediatric Therapy Center, presents Bunny Joaquin (Ma. Rosario Gonzalez Joaquin), Autism Interventionist, Behavior Therapist, Special Education Consultant, President, Shine Special Education Center, Inc. & SPED Consultant of DREAM as she facilitates a Workshop for Parents & Therapists on “ Relationship Between Communication & Behavior” to help better understand what a person with autism is like. It will include Functions of Behavior to accurately identify what behavioral manifestations to address based on a Functional Behavior Analysis (FBA) on July 11, 2011, Saturday, 9am – 12 noon at A Child’s DREAM (446-6121 & 0917-8119032) Pines City Lion’s Club, Gov. Pack Rd., Baguio. Reserve a seat by visiting & registering personally. Priority given to DREAM parents & therapists.

In the National Summit on Family Courts last March 2010, Shine SPED Center School Director Bunny Gonzalez Joaquin, was speaker to advocate for 3 basic rights for persons with autism: The equal right for education; to use public utilities & for employment opportunities.

Bunny Joaquin is presently studying for a Ph.D. in Psychology, (2009 – present) Major in Developmental Psychology, Minor in Clinical Psychology at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. She completed her Certificate Course, TEACCH in 2004, Training for Professional Serving Children & Youth with Autism, ?Treatment & Education of Autistic & Related Communication Handicaps CHildren (TEACCH) at the Division of Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine, University of North Carolina, USA. Bunny graduated from Master of Arts, Education - Special Education in 2002, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. Her research was on : “Parents’ Concerns & Problems in the Intervention for Adolescents with Autism". She garnered the Best Thesis Award in Autism, Bachelor of Science, Psychology , 1994, Assumption College, San Lorenzo Village, Makati City. She was Behavioral Science Society-President & AIESEC AC Chapter-Vice President,

Bunny Joaquin is President of Shine Special Education Center, Inc. (’98-Present) where she supervises administration & operations, & is Program & Training Director. As an autism behavioral interventionist, Bunny implements individualized intervention programs utilizing strategies based on the principles & science of Applied Behavior Analysis, Treatment & Education of Autistic & other related Communication Handicapped Children (TEACCH), & specialized education program for early childhood to adult individuals diagnosed with ASD, PDD-NOS, ADHD, GDD, MR & Communication or Language disorders.

As Secretary of the Board at Philippine Association for Behavior Analysis (‘07-Present) Bunny organizes awareness campaigns through seminars, lectures & workshops on applied behavior analysis in the country; takes part in establishing a regulatory board for the practice of behavior analysis in the Philippines through accreditation exams & site visits for evaluation by certified BCBA therapist from the USA, is involved in fund-raising projects for further research & practice of quality service intervention using ABA. From 2003 to the present, Bunny serves as Special Education Consultant at A Child's Dream Foundation for patients enrolled at A Child's Dream Foundation in Baguio City, Philippines. Bunny was Special Needs Teacher at Center for Autism & Related Disorders (‘95-‘97), & Behavioral Tutor at True Colors, Inc. (‘93-‘95).

Bunny Joaquin is an International Affiliate of the Association for Behavior Analysis, Officer, Philippine Association for Behavior Analysis, Member of the Autism Society of the Philippines & Autism Society of America. Her personal belief is “All behavior is learned.”
