Calinao: Vaya con Dios
Free and Easy
Tuesday, February 7, 2012
A FAMOUS Spanish saying that may be translated in English as, “go with God” or “God Speed.”
More often than not, this phrase is used as a warm “goodbye” or “farewell.”
Have something to report? Tell us in text, photos or videos.
Truth is, “goodbyes” never come easy, but they may also be temporary in nature. This is the major reason why the popular phrase, “Till we meet again” often follows.
Yes, after the past years of serving you my dear friends through our “Free and Easy” weekly affair, I do believe it is rather timely for a much needed break. Man!!! Even the sun doesn’t shine over us on a 24-7 fashion; nature is kind enough to provide for a time to rest, to refresh our energy, and to prepare for a brighter tomorrow.
Please don’t get me wrong, I shall always be the humble public servant you have become acquainted with throughout the years. It shall always be a pleasure and an honor for me to continue serving my fellow citizens as an impartial broadcast and print journalist in our locality.
The experience of sharing both my opinions and those of anonymous concerned citizens has definitely elevated this public servant of yours to a different intensity of self-actualization; an intensity which is considered as the top most degree in Maslow’s “Hierarchy of Needs – Motivation Theory.”
The experience of having served us common citizens through neutral and impartial comments imparted via our weekly column “Free and Easy” is something that would be cherished always.
It is with high hopes the opinions, comments, suggestions, or recommendations shared via this column in the past would likewise be remembered and considered as implements to further upgrade the quality of life in our city and nearby areas.
Though I do intent to take an extended break from our weekly affair, be rest assured my dear friends, on the continuity of my humble service as a guardian of truth and a servant of the common people as I carry on being a “living-medium of expression” in both realms of broadcast and print journalism.
Though we bid farewell to our “Free and Easy” weekly affair, we shall maintain our regular weekend program dubbed as “Bosses ng Masa” over the airwaves of dzWT-540 Radyo Totoo in order to progressively accommodate your opinions, grievances, appeals, and observations on anything and everything of public interest.
Considering the adage: “Man's feelings are always purest and most glowing in the hour of meeting and of farewell,” may I respectfully be allotted the freedom to bid everyone “Adios” via the “KISS” fashion. Again, please don’t get me wrong, by “KISS” I simply mean - “Keeping It Short and Simple,” as to avoid getting carried away with the sentimental mood of the moment.
Without much ado, I extend my sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all who have shared opinions and observations on relevant issues, as well as to those who have patronized and supported this column in the past years.
VAYA CON DIOS AMIGOS, AMIGAS, HERMANOS y HERMANAS…
