2011 Outstanding PBs and District 4 Satellite Registration

TEN out of the 128 punong barangays in the city were recognized as the outstanding punong barangays of Baguio City for the year 2011. The said program commenced last May 22, 2012, and is an annual activity of the Rotary Club of Metro Baguio with the purpose of acknowledging and recognizing the selfless efforts and service of the punong barangays for the welfare of their constituents and of their barangays as a whole. This year is the 19th year that the said program has been undertaken.
The ten outstanding punong barangays recognized last May 22 are: PB Justina P. Andaya (Fairview Barangay), PB Martin A. Anglog (Loakan Apugan Barangay), PB Ferdy K. Bayasen (Central Guisad Barangay), PB Ferdinand Bucad (Hillside), PB Sotero Dulaycan (Pinsao Pilot Project), PB Thomas K. Dumalti (Irisan Barangay), PB Lilian M. Somera (Victoria Village), PB Roy T. Tao-ey (Gibraltar Barangay), PB Jesusa A. Vizcaya (Loakan Proper Barangay), and PB Horacio P. Willy (Pinsao Proper).
Four punong barangays were also recognized as Hall of Fame Awardees. This was brought about by their being part of the ten outstanding punong barangays for four consecutive years. The hall of fame awards were given to: PB Aurora G. Abellera (City Camp Proper Barangay), PB Gloria Corazon P. Dalisay (Quezon Hill Proper Barangay), PB Michael Karl Flores (Kabayanihan Barangay), and PB Arturo M. Rapelo (Imelda Village Barangay).
Hon. Joel Alangsab, Liga President and City Councilor, expressed his congratulations to the awardees and encouraged the other barangays to strive harder for next year’s awards and recognition. He likewise expressed that Liga ng mga Barangay – Baguio Chapter is thankful for the said awards as the efforts of the punong barangays are recognized.
Furthermore, he acknowledged the Rotary Club of Metro Baguio for coming up with this annual event which truly serves as a motivation for the punong barangays to work harder for their respective barangays.
The outstanding punong barangays and the hall of famers were likewise recognized and presented by Hon. Joel Alangsab during the May 28 flag raising activities at City Hall, Baguio City.
To all the awardees congratulations, and may you serve as an inspiration and role model not only to fellow barangay officials, but to the constituency as well.
The Comelec Satellite Registration for District 4 is scheduled on June 2, 2012, Saturday. The said satellite registration will be held at BGH Compound Barangay, particularly at the BGHMC Auditorium. The said registration will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All new registrants or other concerns with respect to their voter’s registration are invited. Those interested to register as voters are required to present any valid ID, or in the absence thereof, birth certificate.
District 4 is composed of the following barangays: Balsigan Barangay, BGH Compound Barangay, Burnham-Legarda Barangay, Ferdinand Barangay, Imelda Marcos Barangay, Philam Compound Barangay, and Sto. Rosario Valley Barangay.
The registration for new voters or transfer and other voter’s registration services, or other Comelec applications, are also being undertaken by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) from Mondays to Fridays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Comelec, Governor Pack Road, beside the University of the Cordilleras.
