MEMBERS of the different Lions Clubs in Baguio City are set to fly to Singapore for the 52nd OSEAL Forum, an event to be participated by Lions of Orient and South East Asia, which is set on November 7 - 10, 2013.
Looking forward to attend in that significant event is Kindasan Lions Club President Sonia Daoas with several members of the all-women club who are now preparing for the trip.
Dubbed "Connectivity," which stands for communication, cooperation, cohesion, the forum will focus on the bridging and reaching out by all lions Clubs in the OSEAL region and engaging each other and collectively to provide humanitarian service for the disadvantaged in their respective communities.
In his message, 52nd OSEAL Forum Organizing Committee FOC Chairman PCC Lim Hon Chee said the theme reflects their intention to promote their sincere belief of the need and importance to stay connected with the people around the world especially those in the OSEAL Constitutional Area.
"The severe impact on the underprivileged communities, arising from recent economic and extreme environmental changes, serve to show the need of a well connected world with us the Lions embracing the resolve to continue serving selflessly the less fortunate," the FOC chair said.
The District 308-A1 Singapore, a sub-district of MD308 will host the Annual Forum which will be held at the Marina Bay Sands Convention and Exhibition Centre. The highlights of the activity will include leadership dialogues sessions, seminars, workshops, and ladies programme and Bazaar.
Lions International supports the conduct of forums as it promotes the principles and objectives of Lions Clubs International. It is also a venue for training, educating and motivating district and club officers.
Moreover, Lions website also says that in forums there will be exchanges of information and discussion of service activities, including opportunities for cooperative service projects and advances the interests of the Lions Clubs International Foundation.
Attending a forum is a very important endeavor. It does not only train and educate but keep the participants updated likewise on current trends on how to address concerns in the community. This also strengthens camaraderie and partnership through socialization.
For those new members of Lions, attending the forum is an opportunity to know more about what Lions International is all about.
May the 52nd OSEAL Forum be another learning experience for all the Lions attending the event. May this be another inspiring moment as well for them to continue on serving the community that needs help.
