Monday, October 7, 2013
FOR Filipinos, the Christmas Holiday season is considered the most anticipated, the longest and well-celebrated event of the year throughout the country. You can already feel the holiday cheer and spirit through early Christmas carols being played over the radio as early as September.
The cold, chilly air in the mornings at this time of the year also reminds us of the most awaited season drawing nearer as each of us keeps our own tabs through our own calendar countdowns. Providing outstanding entertainment and event opportunities for guests and visitors should be at the heart of every hospitality and tourism establishment, because a successful entertainment program will increase arrivals that translate to captured patronage, higher guest satisfaction and perceived service value to guests, which will ultimately improve any property’s financial position and competitiveness.
Beyond revenue generating opportunities, the Holiday Season provides a perfect opportunity for hoteliers to showcase and feature themed special events and unique services to delight the Filipino family that loves glorious food, parties, timeless traditions and valued connections.
Aside from traditional themed buffets, brunches, special tournaments, concerts, customary eggnog, wine and cheese parties, fireworks displays tailored for the holidays, it is also essential to include something new and unique to offer to guests during the Yuletide season by presenting festive and extraordinary attractions for guests and visitors to enjoy.
Now on its 3rd consecutive year, the BCC Christmas Village will be featured and run from November 13, 2013 to January 5, 2014 at the Baguio Country Club skating Rink. It will be open to the public with the usual affordable admission fees.
The Christmas Village will feature our favorite holiday tradition in a classic setting adorned with Christmas trees, houses, Christmas characters with several superheroes as some of the planned character additions. This year will also be an opportunity to present dancing light displays and uniquely designed decorations bearing festive colors.
As part of our environmental commitment, bulk of the decors used will comprise of materials found inside the Club such as pine cones, recycled bottles, cans, paper and newspapers, containers, cans and other recycled materials as part of the Club’s green advocacy.
Snow machines will also be set up for the duration to provide guests a feel of the snowy Christmas in the style of the traditional European village during the holidays. A few concessionaire rows that will offer delectable food, drinks and merchandise will be open to patrons.
The annual Christmas pageant highlighting the birth of Jesus Christ via nativity scene will also be featured through various garbed actors after which, Christmas carols sung by children from different invited schools and winners from the Christmas Chorale competition.
The project is a joint collaboration among various employees coming from different divisions and departments of the Club who have devoted their time to prepare for the coming holiday season.
Also, congratulations to the Baguio Country Club EMPAC Team (Environmental Management Protection and Awareness Committee)!
The BCC is recognized now ASEAN’s Green Hotel! The awarding will be done next year in Malaysia! Continue investing in green advocacies! You can’t go wrong!
