EXPECT a louder roar of the Lions Club International District 301-C, Northern Luzon as they gather and cheer for the new set of officers who will have their formal induction tomorrow, Saturday.
The District Officers Induction which will be lead by District Governor Edith Datuin is expected to be attended by the members and officers from the district including the 11 clubs in Baguio City which include the newest, the Baguio Korean Lions Club that just had their charter night lately.
The loud roar that will be heard from the upcoming occasion is also manifestation of a loader roar for more humanitarian service for the needy uplifting the lives of the disadvantaged community. This also means implementing programs for the protection of the environment.
The induction is also a beginning of fulfilling this year’s Lion’s theme “Follow Your Dream” for stronger communities and stronger Lions which is also in answer to the call of International 2013-2014 President Barry Palmer.
Palmer said that Lions around the world should dream big and make a big impact. “I am urging Lions and clubs to Follow Your Dream.
“I am urging Lions Clubs to Follow Your Dream. The disabled athletes taught me that too often we underestimate our capabilities. We shortchange ourselves. In this issue we profile clubs and Lions that dreamed big and achieved great success. Why not you?,” Palmer asked.
The Lions responsibility is focused on the Global Service Action which involves a year-round service initiative that impacts the youth, hunger, and environment. Tree planting for better environment is another responsibility and likewise the conduct of Reading Action Program to make reading and literacy a focus in the community sharing the dream of education.
The Lions through the years have been making a difference in the community.
Their roar for service for humanity has always been admired and recognized.
Their passion for service is one of a kind, an identity known by all mankind.
To the new officers of the district, let the roar begin .Let it be heard by many like the Roar song of Katy Perry. Make a difference and continue touching the lives of the people. Follow your dreams, make it a reality, and live with it.
