MANY are setting their eyes on a fast growing sports that needs no introduction but could sure need a whole lot of support so it may live up to its rightful place in the international sports world. Arnis is a martial arts practiced all over the Philippines, as a way of life of the Filipinos.
It was regarded to carry with it a piece of a region’s cultural history, if not the whole of it.
Since its inclusion as a sport with the intellectual modifications of people to make it safe for sports competitions, Arnis has been making waves in local, regional and national sports scene, even in international sports competitions, Arnis has been placed in the limelight, but perhaps to see Arnis included in the greatest stages of sports like SEA Games, ASEAN Games, and other big events in sports more ultimately the Olympics would be one of the proudest time not only for the sport of Arnis but for the Filipino people.
Many Arnis teams all over the country have been on a sprout lately and it is an indication that Arnis is slowly being adapted into the mainstream of Philippine sports, it is young, raw and lots of things to be polished in many aspect but Arnis is getting there, as proof of this is the unstable dominance of a single team.
Every year is a challenge and every competition is a sure excitement to look upon who will emerge the victor. Some defends their title but it cannot be denied that teams are getting their share of the improvement every competition and it would not be long they will also share the piece of victory.
In the world of sports, understanding losing is like understanding a winning, no great champion exists without understanding losing, records are just records but character dictates your value as a loser or as a champion, a loss is always an opportunity to get better and being champion is a challenge to act like one and the two is never different from each other.
The focal point is how you invest to get what and to where you want. Everything comes at its own time, history reveals of this phenomenon every now and then when a fan meets his idol and beats him but amidst the triumph is the respect that he let remain in his heart, never letting the success get to his head and think to himself that he is better than his idol.
We all look up to someone and we hope and pray that one day we could be like them, and when we invest on hardwork and perseverance in Gods time, we could reach the goal that He have set for us, all we have to do is face our present so for whatever future holds for us, we could be sure we have invested right for it.
