MUSIC echoed in the air at Porta Vaga Roof Deck along upper session road as children and teens showcased their talents in singing and playing musical instruments in an unforgettable music recital.

9-year old Aiken Eugenriq Ramos who joined in the first day presentation of the20th Recital Competition Talents Unlimited 2013 of Music World on December 19 said the event was a highlight of performance incorporating the lessons learned in music for a period of time. But more than that it is a wish come true for him and an early gift for Christmas.

It is Aiken’s Christmas wish to play a piano before a big crowd of audience even if he is still a beginner. This became a reality in a recital that gave him an opportunity to shine with his rendition of the piano piece entitled “Ragtime Do-Si-Do”.

“I also felt nervous at first but I felt happy just the same especially when I heard the applause of the crowd after my performance,” Aiken said.

Although he is already very active in school activities at the University of Baguio Laboratory Elementary School by involving himself into singing, dancing, and literary competitions, his experience in the music recital has given him more confidence.

His other wish is to continue studying music and be known in his craft with the support, love, and guidance of his parents.

More than 200 students participated in the 2-day music recital that ends today Friday featuring performances in piano from prep A to porta sound, rhythm guitar 1A to ukelele, voice, violin, drums, and woodwind instruments.

The presentation started with a program with the theme dubbed “Praise Him with Strings and Pipe, Praise Him with Changing Cymbals” which is also the slogan of the popular music school in Baguio that now expanded operation in Texas, USA.

Engaging children into music means giving them an opportunity to develop their personality and at the same time enjoy what interests them most. The music recital is likewise important as it help children conquer their fear through a very challenging exposure.

Christmas is for kids. This Christmas may all the children’s wishes will come true. Help them make their wishes come true. Make them happy. Also, make them feel the true meaning of the festive occasion.
Merry Christmas to everyone!
