DEAR you, first be thankful for the countless blessings you have received during the past year, small and great.
Be thankful for your job, which helps you provide for your family. Your job helps you send your children to decent schools, give them food to eat and a roof above their heads.
Be thankful for your friends. They are the ones who share your laughter and tears. They are the ones you share bottles of beer with, glasses of vodka tonic and platters of fried chicken in your favorite bar. But more than the liquor-induced intoxication, they are the ones you share the craziest ideas with. Thank them for having come to your rescue during the times you needed rescuing.
Be thankful for your family. Near or far. They are the reflection of God's love for you. They encompass every promise of faithfulness and loyalty the Father has given to us. They accept you for who you are, embrace you when you've done something wrong, pick you up when you fall and lift you up in prayers.
Be thankful for your dreams. They give you reason to wake up in the mornings.
Be thankful for your doubts. They push you to know.
Be thankful for your failures. They teach you to cherish your triumphs. And to be humble.
Then be thankful for your triumphs. They are the fruits of your faith in God coupled with your hard work.
Ask for good health. World peace. Not of better things to come but the strength to face whatever lies ahead and the humility when you come out a victor from challenges.
Ask that you encounter kindness from other people. And the wisdom and heart to be kind when they are not.
Ask for guidance that you may guide your children in the way of temperance and discipline, of learning and hard work, of peace and love.
Ask for protection as you travel over sea, land and air, forever awed by the wonders of nature. Communing with nature is a way of communing with God.
Ask for forgiveness as you forgive others. But most of all, learn how to forgive yourself.
Then ask that the works of your hands be pleasing to your Creator. And to your loved ones. Always remember, first, do no harm.
Love yourself as you continue to bask in the love of family, friends and God.
He knows your deepest desires. He will answer your prayers in time. Maybe some with a "no" but take comfort because He has big plans for you.
Right now, be thankful, be at peace, and be joyful. BeYOUtiful.
Happy New Year! You keep rockin', girl! \m/
