SPAM Inc. founder and President Dr. Melanie Briones said it has been a practice for the group to hold its conference in the different parts of the country to let delegates from the different islands witness the beauty as well of the different destinations in the nation, which gives a clear picture of a unified Philippines. This year, the Board of Trustees has chosen Baguio City as the place of venue with the Luzon group taking charge of the activity.

Although the names of speakers are not yet confirmed as of the moment it is expected that the event will be attended by veteran journalists and practitioners and journalism advisers and professors nationwide.

Also something to look forward to is the awarding of winners in the different competitions such as the Best in Tabloid, Broadsheet, Newsletter, Magazine, Literary Folio and Yearbook.

The awarding of SPAM's Medallion of Excellence in the Field of Campus Journalism for Student Journalists, the Campus Paper Adviser, and Best Publication will also be the main feature during the big event.

"I am insistent in giving recognitions to campus journalists and advisers who have exemplified superb performance and are truly committed in the journalism profession. Thus, SPAM Inc. will continue to serve and provide them (student journalists and paper advisers) an avenue to be acknowledged and to further hone their craft," Briones said.

There are many good students journalists right now who deserve to be recognized for their skills and talents. It is good that SPAM has been playing a role a big role in acknowledging great talents in this endeavor.

Also, SPAM also plays and active role in promoting the different tourist destinations and culture of different people by conducting its annual convention in the different majestic islands in the country.
