San si nu kob

Sa magkaiba ngunit magkaharap
na sulok nitong mundo
kapwa tayo naggagantsilyo
ng samu’t saring alamat at mito.
Sinulid and bawat salita
at karayom ang dila.

Nakakasugat ang araw
at nakakapaso ang ulan
ngunit sapat nang panangga
ang ating ginagantstilyo
sa magkaiba ngunit magkaharap
na sulok nitong mundo.

Semper Fidelis

Darkly, in the shape of her container,
She sits fermenting in the dank cellar
Unmindful of the thin layers of dust
That very slowly clothe her clear urn
Certain that each fomenting layer
Lends her a bitterness and a sweetness
That will burn and brand mouth and throat
With a thirst that would rouse
Slumbering dreams and dormant longings
And will fill head and stomach
With endless hunger for more

In the brightness of the living room
He sits thinking of what waits in the cellar
Thirsting for the fire that will unerringly
Set his dreams ablaze and feverish
Hungering for the sweet bitterness
That will feed even his corked-up longings
And while he waits, he cools himself
With a sip from a drab spirit poured
From nondescript bottle to hallow chalice
And while he sips he thinks
Of the fermenting wine in the cellar waiting
