Rifani bowed to 20-year-old Chinese rival Gong Jinlan, 0-2, at the close of the sanshou event at the Trinh Hoai Duc gymnasium.
"No excuses, I lost to a better fighter," said the 24-year-old Benguet native Rifani who was wrestled down four times in the two-round encounter in a sports website.
Rifani, who entered the finals by ousting local bet Nguyen Thuy Ngan, was no match to the Chinese lass who floored the Rifani in each of the first two rounds.
The Philippines collected a total of one gold, three silvers and five bronzes and lags behind its Southeast Asian counterparts in the medal tally.
