Snap reaches out to Tublay sufferers


TUBLAY, Benguet -- SN Aboitiz Power Benguet (SnapB) reached out to affected families last week.

Mike Hosillos, external relations manager, said after helping their host communities during the onslaught of Typhoon Pepeng, the company wants to reach out to the rest of the province.

Hosillos said the project was in coordination with Hedcor Inc., in cooperation with the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC).

Bringing much needed relief to families here was welcomed by those in the Cosente, Aguid and Tersero residences.

The team made its rounds in all identified evacuation centers, including the Paoad Elementary School and the Pontino school compound as a drop-off point.

Oscar Paris of the Red Cross Benguet, with Rodolfo Cosnete, assisted in guiding the corporate team in the areas in the highland town.

In Barangay Sto. Nino, families of damaged homes were given individual relief packs. The day-long activity ended at Barangay Coroz, where 130 families were given aid.

In total, 400 family relief packs to the seven existing evacuation centers in the highland town, with 45 sanitary hygiene, four sacks of mineral water, and four boxes of coffee were released.

In Tublay, there are eight evacuation centers for 402 families or 1,863 individuals.

The SnapB team also reached out to Sablan town again with the Benguet Red Cross.

"We turned over 202 relief packs, 3 sacks of used clothes and 4 boxes of coffee," said Hosillos.

Also for the Sablan operations, the company added 300 relief packs and 3 sacks of water.
