GIVEN the widespread use of anabolic steroids by athletes, or the insidious effect of environmental pollutants on our body, are only a few of the most common problems an individual has to deal with. We cannot get away with toxins inside our body, but we can at least minimize it.
Knowing HOW TO, is a question always asked, but is the least we can do. There are hundreds of ways the body can be intoxicated, but with few corrective measures, we are also able to detoxify it. The wholesome development of the individuals’ physical being of mind, body, and spirit, suggests the fullness of health.
Although developments of individuals differ from each other, nobody in the whole wide world is free from bodily toxins. Body detoxification also differs from each method used, but like toxiphobic individuals, we are afraid of what may be the results of being intoxicated, which make us stop bad habits like smoking or alcoholism to drugs use etc.
However, you probably would be happy to know there are nutritional methods of detoxifying the body. Through intelligent use of food supplements and by fasting, we can significantly reduce the harmful effects of drug use and pollution in the liver, kidney, and other internal organs.
One of the best detoxifying agents is water. It is because water is a universal nutrient that is essential to life itself. Blood has a very high water content, fatty tissues have water content, body weight contains roughly 70% water, body muscle weight is 70 percent water, even bone and teeth tissues contain water.
By adequate intake of pure water, that is of course unencumbered with coffee grounds, tea leaves, and artificial sweeteners, etc., and knowing the values of water in your diet of 8–10 glasses or more a day help keep your kidneys from being clogged with toxins.
Food supplements like vitamins also help detoxify the body. Chief among these is vitamin C, well known as an antioxidant, taken daily in doses of 1,000–3,000 milligrams surely helps detoxify the body. A daily dosage of 15,000 units of vitamin A helps to counteract toxin build-ups because it is oil soluble and thus is storable in the body. Other helpful vitamins include vitamin E, B1 and B2 and niacin, selenium and zinc, with daily controlled dosages they help in keeping the body free from toxins.
Fasting, as known to health-conscious individuals of its cleansing benefits, is now looked upon as a faddist activity. However, knowing the logic behind fasting is a tool in detoxifying the body. Fasting becomes necessary when there is no longer an effective means to rapidly clearing out cellular waste to provide a healthful environment for new cells.
It’s difficult to believe the body can actually build new cells faster when you limit your nutrients but it’s a psychological fact. Fasting requires faith in your body’s ability to take care of itself. The secret of fasting effectively is that the body is selective in its own use of cells. First, to satisfy its nourishment needs, it starts breaking down and burning diseased, degenerated, old or dead cells.
During a fast, the body feeds on the most unclean and inferior material in the body such as fat deposits, tumors, etc. Fasting is a means of achieving new muscle tissues, flushing out toxins, and rejuvenating strength and cells.
However, mental attitude mean the difference of its success or failure. Just remember that there is no relationship between FORCED STARVATION which carries with it uncertainty and fear that has a paralyzing effect on body functions and can damage health, from that of VOLUNTARY ABSTINENCE from food.
