City High, Benguet High stay unbeaten-A A +A

BAGUIO City National High School (BCNHS) and Benguet National High School (BNHS) continued their romp and stayed unbeaten after three games in the ongoing north Luzon leg of the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League at the SLU-LHS gym during the weekend.
The BCNHS lady spikers first scored a lopsided 25-8, 25-6 victory over Baguio Central University before disposing Christian Legacy Academy, 25-6, 25-18, during the weekend for their third win in a row in the Shakey’s-backed tournament.
BNHS meanwhile came up with a dazzling 25-23, 25-23 victory over Saint Louis University (SLU) to stay unbeaten in three games in the tournament also being backed by Toby’s Sports, Philippine Volleyball Federation, Metro Sports and Volley Prep.
SLU suffered their second setback in four starts despite an easy 25-7, 25-6 victory during Saturday’s game against Christian Legacy in the tournament also being supported by Mikasa as the official ball used in the competitions.
University of Baguio failed to sustain its winning ways during the weekend after downing University of the Cordilleras (UC), 18-25, 25-21, 25-13 before bowing to Benguet State University, 25-17, 20-25, 25-14.
Phases Learning Center also scored two victories the last time out with a win over Cordillera Career Development College, 25-11, 25-9, and UC, 25-10, 25-20.
Some 98 teams representing eight regions, including the winner in the Northern Luzon and Davao, will be vying for spots in the national competition of the tournament now on its ninth season.
Berths in the national championship, slated March 21-24 in Davao City, are up for grabs in the nationwide eliminations.
