CAR police-media dual meet kicks off

BAGUIO-based journalist are set to engage members of the Police Regional Office Cordillera in a friendly competition kicking off today at Camp Bado Dangwa in La Trinidad, Benguet.
Four sports disciplines are lined up for the one day affair which aims to bolster the working relationship between the police and members of the Fourth Estate.
“The one day affair aims to strengthen the relationship between the police and the media,” said Philippine National Police (PNP) Press Corps Cordillera president Dexter See.
Kicking off the dual meet is a shooting competition between select shooters coming from the PNP and members of the media at the PRO-Cor firing range following the short opening program.
Afternoon events include basketball, badminton and chess at the Cooyeesan gymnasium.
The dual meet will be capped with the traditional social at the Camp Dangwa Log Cabin which will be highlighted by the awarding of winners in the various competitions.
PRO-Cor Director Benjamin Magalong will lead the awarding ceremonies together with See.
The police-vs-media dual meet is a regular activity of the press corps and police meant to foster camaraderie. (Roderick Osis)
