TWO seasoned Team Lakay fighters and another Baguio mixed martial artist are set to be part of the biggest mix martial arts (MMA) promotions in Asia when it visits the Philippines on August 31 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

URCC welterweight champion Eduard Folayang together with flyweight champion Kevin Belingon will once again showcase their skills next month; while undefeated URCC featherweight champion Eric Kelly will also be in the undercard of the event.

“For Eduard and Kevin, we don’t have yet definite opponents but we were assured they will be both featured in the August event,” said Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao.

Despite the tough loss by both Folayang and Belingon in the One FC event last March in Singapore, the two fighters remain upbeat of their stint and promise to give a good fight in front of their countrymen.

“So far di naman huminto sa training yung dalawa since they were part of Crisanto Pitpitunge’s training camp kaya yung conditioning eh nandun pa rin,” added Sangiao.

Meanwhile, Kelly is reported to face American Jen Pulver in the event dubbed “Pride of a Nation,” according to a report by MMA website thefightnation.com.

The thefightnation.com added that Pulver (26-16-1) is without a doubt a pioneer in the lighter weight categories of MMA.

The website added Pulver has been 4-2 in his past six fights while Kelly is undoubtedly one of the best MMA fighters to ever come out of the Philippines as he earned his seventh career win with no defeat by stopping top Korean featherweight, Bae Young Kwon, via decision.

“Expect this to be a very technical and fast paced match between these two guys. This will be a huge match for both competitors. A win for Kelly would be huge as Pulver is definitely his biggest challenge to date and a win for Pulver would be the perfect way for him to put his name on the Asian MMA map,” added thefightnation.com.

One Fighting Championship is Asia's largest mixed martial arts organization hosting the best Asian mixed martial artists and world champions on the largest media broadcast in Asia.
