Two volleybelles vie for Ms. Baguio crown

NOT only will they strut their wares in the upcoming Baguio–Benguet Educational Athletic League but also their brains for the Miss Baguio crown.
Nyzza Ramirez and Regina Gacad, volleyball varsity players in their respective schools are part of the 20 candidates vying for the 2012 crown.
The 20-year old Ramirez is the upcoming team captain of Pines City Colleges Lady Warriors volleyball team is the lucky 13 in the roster of selected ladies who will compete for the title at the Baguio Convention Center on Sept. 2.
A fourth year nursing student, Ramirez showed her loved for the wonderful world of sports since she was a freshman.
During Thursday night's press presentation and search for the "Darling of the Press", the 20-year-old athlete expressed confidence that the country's hope of snatching a gold medal in the Olympics is very much alive.
"Sometimes, sports is not just about winning or losing. It is also how about you build a strong team," she said.
Joining her is 18-year-old Regina Gacad who is also member of the Saint Louis University Lady Navigators volleyball team and is taking up accountancy on her freshman year.
The lady spiker, for her part, said that Baguio is one of the productive cities with beautiful people when asked to describe this mountain resort.
Both ladies will be busy both for the pageant and the opening of the 26th season of the Baguio-Benguet Educational Athletic League (BBEAL) on Aug. 25.
