Ilocos tops Corporate level as SLU, Doña Nicasia win in YMCA badminton tilt

ILOCOS Badminton Club Inc., together with Saint Louie University (SLU) Laboratory High School and Doña Nicasia J. Puyat Elementary School, ruled their respective divisions to win overall honors at the close of the 2nd YMCA Invitational Badminton Tournament.
Mac-Mac Banaag and Jay–ar Sinen opened the floodgates of win by the Ilocos Badminton Club after dispatching the pair of Jeff Somentac and VJ Salazar of Cooyeesan in level A men's doubles with Maverick Perez and Antonio Rabang topping level C.
YMCA's Eric Basto and Glen Mabalot topped Level B, while Benguet Badminton Club's Avelino Cayat Jr. and Chris Eban topped level D of the tournament endorsed by the Department of Education Baguio Schools Division.
The elite level saw Glenn Aquino and Jordan Adriano of the University of Baguio topping the men's division after disposing the pair of YMCA's Jeff Somentac and Jay Claveria, while level B winners were VJ Salazar and Sai Balanag of Cooyeesan.
Maverick Perez and Cecille Javier from ISBCI topped level C. Antonio Rabang and Cecile Javier, also of Ilocos won the top honors in level D as Celina and Cecille Javier won level C in the women’s doubles division.
Girlie Lopez and pair Nica Songcuan of San Jacinto bagged the championship in Level D.
In the high school division, Vic Salazar and Rainier Gemuel Tom of Cooyeesan and BCNHS topped the level A Boys Double while the level B top honors went to Jerome Erick Serrano and Jae Ryan Talavera of BCNHS.
The level A girls doubles champion went to Ma. Franchesca Alfonso and Sandra Rose Ragudo UB Prep. High School while Malaya Helena Walin and Mary Corrine Pangilinan of SLU-LHS topped the level B division.
The mixed pair of Vic Salazar and Ma. Franchesca Alfonso topped level A of the mixed doubles, while level B top honors went to Nicole Camille Aniguid and Barney Mandapat of Hope Christian Academy.
Doña Nicasia’s Jairus Aurie Detran and Evander Folk topped the Elementary Level A boys doubles, while YMCA’s Juan Antonio Alfonso and Ernest Daren Mabalot took the championship in level B.
Loize Angelique Olorozo and Mar Von Pinlac also of Dona Nicasia topped level A girls doubles with Jorlene Cupido and Danielle Espiritu of YMCA bagged the crown in level B.
In Level A mixed doubles, Reden Boromeo and Loize Angelique Oloroso of Dona Nicasia was the champion while Aberson Fomocod and Jorlene Cupido,also from Dona Nicasia topped level B. (Roderick Osis)
