Hugh cash pot at stake in Smart run

CLOSE to P50,000 in cash prizes are expected to be given away in the Smart Baguio Run for a Cause spearheaded by the City Government and Gray Area Solutions Inc., slated October 7.
A banner filed of participants from all over are expected to grace the four race distances for the benefit of the programs and projects of the Cordillera Region Rehabilitation Center for the Youth (CRRCY), the Baguio Combative Sports Group and the Alay Sa Kalinisan.
Formal registration starts October 1 for the different categories with corresponding registration fees are 21k, P500; 10k, P400; 5k, P300; and 3k, P250 for both 12 years old and under and 13 years old and above.
Aside from the trophies for the top three finishers in the men’s and women’s division of each categories, the top three finishers will receive cash prizes as follows; 21k, P10,000 for the first placer; P7,500, second placer; and P5,000, third placer.
For the top three finishers of the 10-K, prizes at stake are P7,000, P4,000 and P3,000 for the first, second and third placers, respectively. In the 5-K run, P5,000, P3,000 and P2,000 will be up for grab for the first, second and third placers, respectively.
The top three finishers of the 12 and under category of the 3k fun run will receive cash prizes ranging from P500, P1,000 and P1,500 for the boys and girls divisions while the top three finishers in the 13 and under category will receive corresponding gift certificates.
Forms will be available at the City Administrator’s Office, Baguio Tourism Information Center located along Lake Drive, Burnham Park, Baguio Swimming Pool area c/o of Lawrence Daguio, Laperal Building guardhouse and at the Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) administrative division.
The first 1,000 registrants are entitled to singlets to be distributed by the organizers. Deadline for registration is at 12 pm of Saturday, October 6. (Roderick Osis)
