TEAM Lakay’s Jerome Wanawan seeks another follow-up to his win in Pacific Xtreme Combat when he squares off against knock-out specialist Eugene Toquero.
The matchup between Wanawan and Toquero posts two undefeated flyweights from two of the top gyms in the Philippines set to take place on November 17th at the famous Araneta Coliseum headlining the star-studded international fight card with some of the best rising stars of mixed martial arts (MMA).
The undefeated Wanawan, who holds a record of three wins including two knock–outs, will seek his fourth win against another knock-out artist in Toquero.
PXC-34 will also feature a featherweight bout with veteran Harris Sarmiento taking on Mark Striegl, one of the top young MMA fighters in the country.
Sarmiento (34-22), who also holds the PXC Lightweight Belt, is an extremely dangerous fighter at 145 pounds and has fought at four different weight classes over his career against world-class fighters including Nick Diaz, Gilbert Melendes, and Max Holloway from the UFC & Strikeforce.
His dominating performances in PXC over the last year put him back on the top of the rankings as one of the toughest pound-for-pound fighters in the region who resides and trains in Honolulu, Hawaii, with 808 Top Team, and is well-known as one of the best MMA fighters from the islands.
Sarmiento’s opponent, Striegl, is a submission specialist who made his PXC debut with an impressive performance in September. Striegl is now 11-0, and trains with Fight Corps MMA in Baguio City.
According to Striegl, “I’m very much looking forward to fighting Harris Sarmiento. Harris is a great fighter and this is going to be an explosive match-up. This is why I joined PXC, to fight guys that will drive me to be the best I can be.”
