Prizes await winners in PhilHealth Run

PRIZES and surprises await the top three finishers in the different race distances of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation simultaneous running event, “PhilHealth Run 2013: Nationwide Run for Mother and Child Protection.”
The run slated February 17, 2013, in 18 sites all over the country will feature the 3K for kids and adults, 5K, 10K and the 18K run for male and female categories as part of the corporation’s “Be Philhealth Now” campaign.
Philhealth president and CEO Dr. Eduardo Banzon, in a statement, said the campaign is an excellent platform to celebrate the agency’s mandate of Universal Health Care as it moves closer to achieving universal coverage by 2013.
The event will be simultaneously held here together with Manila, Dagupan, Tuguegarao, Clark, Malolos, Laguna, Batangas, Legaspi, Iloilo, Cebu, Tacloban, Zamboanga, Cagayan De Oro, Davao, Koronadal, Marawi and Butuan.
The run also aims to benefit one national and 18 other local institutions that cater to the health and welfare of Filipino mothers and children through Helping Hands, Healing Ministries Inc.
Helping Hands Healing Ministries Inc., a Baguio-based institutions catering to sick children 18 years old and below and helping them to recover from their illnesses, is the local beneficiary for PhilHealth Run 2013, along with the national beneficiary – Philippine Children’s Medical Center, will be sharing, 50 percent each, the proceeds from the registration and sponsorships in the Baguio leg of PhilHealth Run 2013.
The event is open to all, who are in good health condition, Philhealth members or not, Filipinos or foreigner alike, sponsorship is also accepted.
Registration starts on November 17 and interested individuals can go to the PhilHealth Regional Office at the third floor of the SSS building along Harrison Road or at their Local Health Insurance Office along lower Bonifacio.
For those outside Baguio, who would like to join the Baguio-leg of the PhilHealth Run 2013, they can also register online at http://run2013.philhealth.gov.ph.
Registration fee will be P250, P300, P350 and P450 for 3K, 5K, 10K and 18K category, respectively. Aside from the cash prizes for the first three finishers in each category, a PhilHealth Run 2013 personally designed running shirt and other freebies also awaits the participants.
Prices for the 3k category will be at P3,000, P2,000, P1,000 for the first three finishers while the top three runners in the 5k run are P5,000, P3,000, and P2,000 with the top three finishers in the 10K run is P8,000, P4,000, and P3,000, respectively.
A whopping P10,000 in cash prizes will be given to the first placer while P6,000, and P4,000 will be given to the second and third placers, respectively, with the race starting and finishing at the Burnham Lake Drive.
