NEW year, new decade, new visions. For sporting Judo, the Cordillera Judo Association composed of the different Judo Clubs in Baguio City and Benguet that includes the YMCA-Kaitagi Judo Club, UC Judo Club, SLU Judo Club, UB Judo Club, SWCFS Judo Club and the CCDC Judo club, on a gathering held at the Lualhati Barangay Garden, served as a new hope for the betterment of Judo in the locality.

Upset of the disappointment that the sport or any other sport have experienced the past decade, sometimes it takes an unexpected encounter to put things in perspective. It took time to dash the hopes held by every judoka for a long time that is hoping to have the chance of landing their dreams as fulfilled judo players.

Wondering where the organization went wrong, an hour later after a brainstorming everybody was well and truly wallowing that things can be done for the betterment of not only the individual but for the organization. As the group looked it over they saw where the organization failed, management, system, and cooperation.

The group leaned in for a closer look, then suddenly everybody opened up, with their utter frustrations blowing like wet air, it was not an “eye for an eye” neither was it a “tooth for a tooth,” it became a vent where their sentiments was shared. It was like giving breath to a once dead system.

Moving on has challenges and notches, but on how the discussions were made, regaining the groups composure is face first to the oncoming challenges with the first thought to rescue the hibernated group from sleep. First things first, visioning what the sport organization would become this coming year, with the stuation explained, the group laid plans to benefit both the organization and the clubs as well as the individual players.

Discussions for the laid plans and suggestions were like passing the breakers in deep water, and as the waves rolled in the group were making progress. What an effort after those straining discussions the group decided that innovations was to be made on the improvement of programs (training, competitions etc.), SOP’s must be in place, and the proper management of the organizations resources and mobilization of its resources(Human and material).

Implementation comes next as everybody has to “walk the talk” to be able to revive the once most be medaled sport in the locality and reach their ultimate goal of being on the top among other sport. With strategies on hand and “COOPERATION” at hand, what the group has accomplished today was far more important. VISION, MISSION, and COMMITMENT for development.
