TEAM Lakay’s Honorio Banario and Rey Docyogen continue their build up here in the summer capital with bigger fights ahead of them when they hurdle their respective opponents in One Fighting Championships.

Both fighters are currently honing up their ground and wrestling game as Banario takes on fellow Filipino and Baguio born Eric Kelly who is undefeated in nine fights for the promotion’s Featherweight strap.

Docyogen will be in the undercard of the event dubbed ‘Return of the Warriors’ slated February 2 at the state-of-the-art Stadium Putra in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where he will face Japanese veteran Shinichi Kojima.

Kojima is a former Shooto World Champion and was ranked as the number one flyweight in the world until being forced to relinquish the belt due to a potentially career ending knee injury and has since launched a comeback and after having faced a who’s who of flyweight competition his record stands at 13-5-5.

“Our training will be more on ground and wrestling because our opponents have good ground games,” said Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao.

Kelly is currently the URCC Featherweight Champion and his victories include the stoppage of former UFC champion Jens Pulver in the second round at the Araneta Coliseum last August 2012 to score his third straight ONE FC win.

The URCC lightweight strap belongs to Banario but he has dropped down to 145 lbs to fight for ONE FC with a 7-1 record and like Kelly he is coming off a big win in Manila when he picked apart Andrew Benibe.

ONE FC: ‘Return of Warriors’ features ten fights with top Malaysian fighters Adam Kayoom, Melvin Yeoh and Peter Davis all in action as well as Lowen Tynanes, who is best known for a recent win over the Philippines very own Eduard Folayang.
