WITH his superbike win in the Philippine Superbikes Championships last year, Raniel Resuello of Kawasaki Racing Team-Castrol-Motolite is among the awardees in the 10th Annual Golden Wheel Awards Night.
The 22-year-old Baguio boy rider will receive his award in March in the biggest gathering of motorsports heroes to be feted for their significant achievements in their respective fields with the awards night set on March 16 at the Cultral Center of the Philippines.
A registered nurse from Upper Quezon Hill, Resuello developed a passion for racing since 2005 and is a member of a competitive racing team where he also received an award during the 9th Golden Wheel Award.
Resuello was also cited by Baguio City Council last year after his Superbike victory.
The champions of the 12 motorsports disciplines are all nominated for the prestigious Golden Wheel International Driver and Golden Wheel National Driver of the Year plums.
The Golden Wheel Awards is a brainchild of RP Motorsports godfather Johnny Tan with a vision of seeing a Filipino champion in the world motorsports scene.
Since its inception in 2003, the Golden Wheel Awards has grown not only as a prestigious awards body for motorsports in the country but also as the much-awaited and most glittery annual gathering of solid brotherhood among racing heroes and supporters.
Michele Bumgarner and Pepon Marave emerged as the first recipients of the coveted Golden Wheel Driver of the Year awards for their momentous feats as Asian karting and Asian Formula 3 champions in 2003.
Bumgarner made it back-to-back in 2004 and were followed by Jolet Jao (2005), Jody Coseteng (2006) and Maico Buncio (2007). Roderick Osis
