FRENCH national Florian Garel is set to step up to the plate against the undefeated Filipino Egly Diaz as the main card of the Colt 45 URCC-Baguio 5 dubbed “Unleashed” on March 2 at the Baguio Convention Center.
Garel will come out as a replacement fighter for Will Chope, who was supposed to headline the event but has to attend to his wife who was reported to have given birth recently.
Diaz, fighting out of Tribal Submission, will try to preserve his three-fight win streak against the older and taller Garel who holds a record of two wins and loss and is fighting out of Taiwan Top Team.
Team Lakay’s Roldan Snagchaan, who scored a sensational knock out against Aslan Toktarbaev last December and undefeated after two fights, will battle Adam Cacay of Fight Corp MMA who is on a three game fight streak after dropping his first mix martial arts bout way back in 2010.
Lito Adiwang of Tribal Submission tests his mettle against Fernando Venus of Ground and Pound MMA.
Robert Buminaang, who is supposed to square off against Garel, will battle Cebuano prospect Vaughn Donayre of Team Deftac Cebu while Team Lakay’s Dave Galera tests Keiff Mangusan of Tribal Submission.
Edmund Velasco of Team Torogi will make his debut against Alexandro Anas of Highland Gym as Tristan Rebuyaco’s Team Lakay battles Ricardo Dacuyan of Submission Sports in the event as part of the annual Baguio Flower Festival.
Ground & Pound MMA’s Renan Ramos is set to test Team Torogi’s Jay Olod, while teammate Alvin Velasco battles upcoming Team Lakay fighter Stephen Luman.
Opening the stacked fight card of the evening is Team Lakay’s Jonathan Corton as he faces off with Team Torogi’s Franklin Donglay. (Roderick Osis)
