9th Lang-ay’s Motocause for dialysis patients

THE ninth staging of the Lang-ay Festival will see a motocross for a cause and a wushu xanda elimination which is aims to attract thousands of tourists that will coincide with the province’s founding anniversary.
Dubbed Motocause Mountain Province, the route will cover two distances which aims to help dialysis patients of Mt. Province.
“The route will basically help us promoting tourism in the province because these routes have significant roles to our tourism industry,” said Mt. Province Information Officer Angel Baybay of the event which runs off April 1.
Two routes will cover the Motocause slated April which starts at Bontoc, Mt. province’s capital town enroute to Sagada-Besao via Nakawang-Tadian-Bauko-Sabangan-Bontoc route which covers at least 100 kilometers.
The second route will start in Cervantes, Ilocos Sur and will traverse via the historic Besang Pass according to Baybay then goes up to Bontoc with P200 to be charged for every rider of the event as part of the 46th founding anniversary of the province.
A wushu xanda event will also part of the highlighted event of the Lang-ay festivities on April 6 at the Saint Vincent High School pitting the province’s top wushu xanda fighters and nearby areas.
Lang-ay, which means sharing of blessings and happiness, will also feature elementary and high school amateur boxers which sees action from April 5-6 at the Bontoc Central School.
Kidlaa Restobar will also host a darts tournament from April 5,6 and 7 featuring top darters from the province and even nearby Benguet and Baguio City.
Aside from the traditional sports, indigenous games such as wrestling, arm wrestling, and stilts racing will also be a sight to see in the upcoming Lang-ay festival which formally opens April 1 and ends on the 7th.
An Inter-agency and Inter-Municipality basketball and volleyball competitions where also part of the kick off events prior to the start of the annual festival.
