Lady Cards back on track-A A +A

UNIVERSITY of Baguio bounced back from an earlier defeat by trouncing UP-Baguio Lady Maroons in women's volleyball of the Baguio-Benguet Educational Athletic League.
The Lady Cardinals silenced a pre dominant UP crowd with a 25-9, 25-21, 25 -16 Friday afternoon at the UC gym.
Cardinal Head coach Jun Nisperos said the team's game would have been better if the team maintained its good rally from the start.
"Mas naging maganda pa sana yung laro kung na-maintain nila 'yung maayos na receive nang bola nung simula," Nisperos said.
With the crowd becoming a huge factor against UB, the Lady Cardinals proved to the crowd their team is a hard nut to crack, leading their opponent behind and running up the score in the first set of the game.
UB tried to pull away in the early goings of the second set but UP came close to stealing one with Eliza Hermosa leading the charge that saw them trail, 23-20.
But before the UP Lady Maroons could generate any momentum, the Lady Cardinals got back to their heels, sending them the message it was a too little, too late.
After the Maroons generated a little spark in the second, the Lady Cardinals couldn't let all things get ugly, UB made sure there will be no repeat of a rally by the fighting Lady Maroons.
Nisperos said they will carry on with a better defense and lessen service errors for the next games.
The Cardinals are now tied three-ways with the UC Jaguars and last season's champion SLU Navigators in the women's division with an identical three wins and one loss card.(Mark Victor Pasagoy)
