Side events included in Milo elims-A A +A

FIVE side events, aside from the usual foot race will greet participants as the 37th National Milo Marathon Baguio eliminations race fires off November 3 at the Burnham Park lake drive.
More than running, organizers of the marathon will also include other competitive events to extend the winning chances of participants of the race.
Race director Che Alberto said the occasion was too grand that organizers included side events to give reward to performing participants during the race.
“Malaking tulong ito since most of the prizes with this side events are sports equipment that will be beneficial sa mga mananalong groups and schools,” Alberto said.
Side events include the biggest company delegation, inter-company running competition, biggest school delegation, inter-school running competition, and the highly anticipated cheer dance competition.
Winners in all of the five side events will receive P10,000, P7,000, and P5,000 worth of sports equipment and plaques for first, second, and third prizes accordingly except for the cheer dance who will add another consolation prize worth P3,000 of sporting goods.
For the biggest company delegation and inter-company running competition, organizers said there should be a minimum of ten employees per company to finish in the 5K and 10k race where the top three will be given reward based on their best time recorded and through their average time.
The biggest school delegation schools must have a minimum of 50 students to finish the race in order to qualify, the top three with the most number of finishers from each school in the 5K and 3K race will win.
Competitors for the cheer dance will then be judged according to performance, routine difficulty, showmanship, overall evaluation, and costume.
“Every school and company that we invited was given naman written copies of these side events that they could join in, and we also encourage all of them to take part of it,” Alberto added.
