Arnis struck gold in Batang Pinoy-A A +A

INSPIRED by their athletics counterpart, Arnis is alos off to a good start for Baguio City after capturing its first gold in the Luzon leg of the BatangPinoy 2013 – Luzon Leg in Iba, Zambales.
The added another gold medal for the city bets in their over-all title bid by topping the the girl’s solo baston category against other competing teams from Luzon.
Norielyn Joy Sagun primed up against the competition and showed her true form in front of hundreds of spectators at the Iba Provincial Capitol.
Arnis head coach Ayatollah Gadaoni said all of their athletes prepared well enough to compete in this year.
"Kundisyon lahat ng mga manlalaro natin, actually we are hoping to get most of the awards against sa iba pa nating mga ka-kompetensya," said Gadaoni.
"Nakikita naman natin na pinro-provide naman lahat ng local government ang pangangailangan ng mga manlalaro so dapat lang na manalo tayo para continuous ang maging suporta nila sa atin," Gadaoni added.
Sagun led the competition as she scored an almost perfect score from the judges leaving trail Laguna City and Valenzuela City behind in second and third place respectively.
The fourteen year old athlete from Tribal Clan Martial Arnis Club told she was fortunate to earn gold as a first time competitor in the said category.
"Ngayon lang ako sumali sa category na yun, pinagbutihan ko lang routine saka practice para magawa kong maayos sa mismong performance," Sagun said.
"Na-intimidate langako kanina sa mga kalaban ko kasi halos lahat sila nakapag-laro na sa pambansa," added Sagun.
