Saturday, October 26, 2013
THRONGS of zombie clad walkers are seen to once again roam Session Road starting at 3 in the afternoon today which is a follow-up of another event similar last year.
Organized by Magnum Artistry, the event that started back in 2011 is expecting to gather even more participants to the said annual event.
“Last year kasi we made the event too dramatic with programs and all, pero this year we would like to deliver the initial platform of zombie walk na flash mob event lang,” head organizer and CEO of Magnum Artistry Carl Paolo said.
“Yung tipong yung mga registrants eh darating to participate sa walk and after the parade we disperse nalang,” Paolo added.
Organizers said the purpose of the event is to purely encourage people to bring out their artistic side by celebrating Halloween in a fun and awesome way.
Participants from Manila and other neighboring provinces are expected to join the zombie parade.
Magnum Artistry is an independent multi media arts group in Baguio City, specializing in organizing events and promotions.
Zombie Walk 3 will start at the Baguio Convention Center grounds, and will pass through Session Road and close at Melvin jones.
Organizers said this year, costumes and make-up will be provided free by the artists themselves.
Magnum artistry’s Cymel Montenegro encourages participants to come early for them to be able to dress and put on make-up.
“Pwede naman silang pumunta ng mas maaga para sa costume at make-up na ipro-provide ng group,” Montenegro added.
Organizers said sponsors for the event will provide freebies and special prizes for the best dressed and make-upped participants.
Partner sponsors for Zombie Walk 3 include, Kenneth Luke Jr. Coporation, T-Library, T&J Café, Azotea Café, DNZ Fly Crew, Alchoholic Avenger, Cordillera Skyline, E Cordillera, together with the Philippine National Red Cross.
Beneficiaries for the event will include PNRC project Barya Mo Buhay Ko and the earthquake victims in Bohol, where a bloodletting program will be held during the assembly at the Convention Center.
