Hundreds seen in 1st La Trinidad Zombie Run-A A +A

HUNDREDS of running enthusiasts are expected to join the first Zombie Run to be held on November 10 at La Trinidad, Benguet as one of the featured activity in this year's celebration of Adivay Festival.
Dubbed as "Try Running for Your Life," organizers of the event will be hosting the first post Halloween 5K zombie fun run.
Race organizer Kurt Sebio said they are expecting a big outcome of participants in the said occasion.
"Since this is the first time that this will happen in Adivay Festival, we hope it will bring a great output not only from the locals but also from the neighboring municipalities and city as well," said Sebio.
"Instead kasi na gawin namin siyang simpleng patakbo lang we adopted the concept from abroad with the twist na mayroong human runners at zombies na hahabol sa kanila," Sebio added.
Organizers said aside from being a part of the festival, the fun run will also encourage the participants and spectators of the event to be health conscious at the same time enrich their creative and imaginative side.
The fun run will gun start at 7am with an interval of ten minutes for every wave of a sub-divided participants. Race route will start from the Benguet Capitol going to Buyagan climbing to Windy Hill to Motorpool passing by the Pyramid Cemetery and ends at the Wangal Sports Complex Oval.
Registering participants will costs 200 pesos for either a human or a zombie runner, where it will include race bibs, zombie button pins, and certificates.
Sebio said instead of the initial giving for first placers of P5,000 for human and P4,000 pesos for zombie winner they decided to distribute the loot and deliver P3,000 pesos for each category namely for male, female, and kids.
For the second placers and third placers, the prizes will be P2,000 and P1,000 for both human and zombies respectively.
Organizers will also give away special prizes for the top five best dressed zombies and a medal for the top 20 finishers.
The main instruction for the event are human runners will carry with them three flags where zombies will try to capture them, humans are expected to carry at least one flag when crossing the finish line and zombies with the most flags after the race will win.
