Baguio bets catapult Luzon in Little Olympics-A A +A

TEAM Baguio backed the Luzon force and snatch third place overall in the recently concluded 5th National Milo Little Olympics 2013 held in Cebu City.
The city’s young athletes helped Luzon and earn an overall 416 points, 199 coming from the elementary and 217 from the secondary school, landing a decent third place in the sports event held November 28 to December 1.
Competitors coming from the National Capital Region topped the national finals amassing 615 points, 330 from the elementary and 285 from the high school division.
The Visayan team earned came in close with a 609 to land in second place while the Mindanao crew finished fifth after coming up with 400 points.
NCR leaned on its second stringer swimmers in the elementary while stamping its class in athletics in secondary division to retain the overall championship.
Team Luzon topped the tae kwon do boys and girls in both elementary and high school and scored 15 points each while Visayas had 10 points in each division.
Team Luzon’s volleyball boys’ likewise helped in with another huge 25 points apiece coming from the elementary and the high school division.
NCR hauled 30 points in the elementary athletics, with team Baguio coming in second with 20 points.
Baguio tankers were able to haul seven gold, four silver, and one bronze medal, courtesy of Dan Christian Leyba, with Jenkins and Liana Labao.
Bulk of the participants who represented the city came from Baguio City National High School, University of Baguio Preparatory High School, University of Baguio Laboratory Elementary School, and Baguio Central School.
Milo's little Olympics started back in 1988 to let young athletes showcase their excellence, drive, determination, and discipline in the field of sports, and as part of the premier nationwide junior inter-school league for elementary and secondary athletes.
