HOST National Institute for Information and Technology topped the vocal solo competition while AMA Computer College bagged the championship in the duet singing competition to share top honors in the Literary – Musical Competition of the 12th Cordillera Higher Education Sports and Athletic Association.

Students from ten different schools and colleges competed as the second phase of CHESAA season officially kicked November 29 at the Baguio Convention Center to showcase their talents.

Executive committee president CHESAA 2013 Vladimir Cayabas said the competition caters to their students who excel in other fields aside from sports.

“Although CHESAA mostly hold sport competitions, we also give importance sa mga talents that our students have especially that of skills na hindi physical,” said Cayabas.

“In our association we know that not all can play physical sports, so we encourage and support all our students sa ibang mga hilig nila,” Cayabas added.

AMA took second place in the vocal solo competition as Kings College of the Philippines landed at number three.

AMA however bested NIIT and Baguio College of Technology to take the top three spots in the duet singing competition.

Data Center College of the Philippines was declared the champions for the modern dance battle, with Kings College of the Philippines, and Baguio College of Technology came in second and third respectively.

HML College snatched the first place in the extemporaneous speaking, followed by Baguio College of Technology, and NIIT in second and third placers.

Other competing schools and colleges of CHESAA include Benguet School of Business and Technology, Benguet Vocational School, Easter College, Philippine Nazarene College, and Philippine Women’s University.

Sports events were pushed to January next year in a bid to fix the organization’s schedule of games. Events to be played in the second phase include volleyball, table tennis, badminton, athletics, arnis, karate, and sepak takraw.

The CHESAA’s Search for Miss CHESAA will culminate this year’s season on February 2014.
