Wednesday, December 18, 2013
HUNDREDS of running enthusiasts are expected troop to the first ever Baguio Night Christmas Run kicking off at Wright Park on December 21 at exactly 5 in the afternoon.
Featured in the City Tourism Office’s “Golden Christmas in Baguio”, the sporting activity is inspired by the tagline “Family Running Event” as organized by Team Malaya Dunamis in partnership with New Life Christian Center Baguio.
Co-organizer Jennifer Guevara said night running will showcase the beauty of Baguio especially during this festive season.
“Aside from making it a unique experience for the participants, we all know the hills and the light at night make them look like big Christmas trees,” said Guevarra.
“And since it is a family affair, we know most of the members can participate starting from the grandparents up to the kids,” Guevara added.
The running activity will have 3K, 7K, and 12K race categories with registration fee at P350, P450, and P650 respectively.
Registration fees includes singlet, reflectorized race bib, certificate, post-race snacks, and a medal for the 12K finishers while awards will be given to the top three finishers for each race category.
“We look forward to the success of the event as Christmas is the best time to be with one’s family,” Guevara said.
Organizers said part of the proceeds will be given as a support for the activities of the New Life Ministries Baguio.
For registration and more information, participants may visit Lagalag Store in Casa Vallejo, Outdoor Kinetix at Burnham Park, Saleng at Panagbenga Park, or the New Life in AYK Bldg, Legarda Rd. until December 20.
Online registration will also be available for non-Baguio residents at www.malayadunamis.com or register on-site at Wright Park (fronting The Mansion) from 2PM onwards. For inquiries, parties may contact Jen (0917)842-2189, Stephen (0905)779-1081 or John (0917)855-4241.
