COMPETITIONS are moments where we come together with a common purpose, to participate, compete and win. Competitions are venue where we can push each other to go to another block, or mile of enhancement and development. However, does a player know he is a player if no one tells him?
Everybody is players in the society depending on their roles as individuals. In a broad sense, players are not only those who score winning points in big games, they can be anyone who inspires you, anyone you look up to, anyone who cheers you, and make you become better than you were before.
Our role as players starts when we start wanting to be someone else, from childhood, when we try to see, dream, and think of images of who we want to be. We convince ourselves beyond doubts that we can be somebody we want to be.
Thinking of what we can become makes us change ourselves; because we feel how good it can be, reaching a goal. Even how exhausted, we are exhilarated after the success that we achieve. It is not just the physical results but the energy that you create that makes you feel self-assured and proud of yourself that can make you happy to be exactly the player you want to be.
But no matter how good a player you are in keeping your goal, challenges can stop you in your track. You must have an incredibly good-natured, hard-working approach in meeting your challenges to “be in the moment”. Athlete or no athlete, certainly your training will enable you to maintain a strong focus.
There are also important aspects players must possess in their cultural upbringing, because they come from different cultures and places where each individual sometimes cannot appreciate the others, “right mind”. Having the “right mind” in a broad sense, is the ability to be aware of the present thoughts and actions of an individual.
Other necessary elements of a “right mind” like right views, right resolve, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort and right concentration, are necessary to be possessed by a player because there is not the same relationship in the goals of individuals. Having a “right mind” is having a right goal, and while these goals differ, achieving these goals also differs.
This is where the upbringing of an individual plays an important role, because right upbringing will help the individual grow up focused and more on doing their best in each moment, not achieving the kinds of tangible material things that people usually chase after, because being in a “right mind” is also having a mind-set.
