AFTER a long month of waiting, the 12th season of the Cordillera Higher Education Sports Athletic Association will officially kick off their volleyball tournament slated January 22.
Some 10 member schools are set to vie for honors as the second phase of the annual collegiate tournament will fire its match schedules at the Easter College gymnasium.
CHESAA 2013 Executive Committee president Vladimir Cayabas said the organizers for the competition look forward to a successful presenting of the sport.
"Volleyball is one of the highlights in CHESAA's annual celebration, this year we look forward to showcase the sport talents of our students," Cayabas said.
Cayabas has also encouraged students and other spectators to participate in viewing the sports contest.
"We encourage everyone to partake in the volleyball contest," said Cayabas.
"Hopefully all audiences will give full support just like in the basketball tournament held during the first phase," Cayabas added.
The second phase of the athletic association was earlier planned to start early December last year where some nine teams from the different schools will be competing.
But the volleyball was moved this month to avoid conflict with some of the school's academic activities.
Other sport activities to be held this season also include table tennis, badminton, athletics, arnis, karatedo, sepak takraw, and litmus competition. The CHESAA board will also showcase during their culminating activity the most awaited Search for Miss CHESAA on March 2014.
School and colleges participating this year include AMA Computer College, Baguio College of Technology, Benguet School of Business and Technology, Benguet Vocational School, Data Center College of the Philippines, Easter College, Kings College of the Philippines, NIIT - Baguio, Philippine Nazarene College, Philippine Women's University, and HML College.
