The purpose of having this event is to provide a venue for our students and athletes to showcase what they have been learning in the gym and to provide the athletes more exposure and experience, which are part of the development of the ground games of our fighters and members as well as the other participants from different gyms all around the Cordilleras. Other purposes of this grappler’s cup are to promote sportsmanship and camaraderie among the competitors and to raise awareness on the effects of sports especially among the youth.
These two sports events happening this week are great steps in developing the youth to become responsible and law-abiding citizens. I believe sports give positive effects on their process of becoming good individuals. Sports teach the athletes self-discipline, respect to others, patience, hard-work, sense of responsibility and creates good health-awareness to the next generation.
