Meanwhile, Mark Christian Garcia lorded in the male 21 kilometer event as he crossed the finish line with 1:45:46, whereas Roland Wangwang and Felix Bernabe were second and third place finishers with 1:50:00 and 1:59:34, respectively.

Former Milo marathon queen Christabel Martes with Kristy Anne Abello and Valerie Tauli scored the top three finishers for the women’s half marathon.

Organized by Team Malaya Dunamis and partnering with the Department of Tourism and the local government of Sagada, Mt. Province, the first ever full marathon event to be held in the province housed some 373 runners both from the local and national scenes.

Organizers of the event associated the marathon race as one of the highlights of the annual Etag Festival and the Feast of St. Mary the Virgin.

Co-organizer and member of Team Malaya Dunamis Jennifer Guevarra said the full marathon (42K) is a first time event to be hosted by the province.

“This full marathon was the first of Team Malaya Dunamis’ Cordillera Series, at the same time it was the first time for the town hosted a full 42K marathon,” said Guevarra.

Guevarra mentioned the event was quite successful and they look forward to holding it again next year.
