Baguio rider wins anew in 1st Gov. Ebdane Motocross

FRESH from topping the 50 cc event and a 65 cc runner-up finish in the National Motocross Championships, JayPaul Samuel Wayet is gaining popularity as one of the country’s upcoming motocross rider with another trophy in the 1st Gob. Jun Ebdane Motocross Challenge in Iba, Zambales.

The eight year old Wayet recently bested other young riders by bringing home another championship trophy in the 50 cc category of the event made part of the province’s 14th Zambales Mango Festival celebrating bountiful harvest of mangoes and other agricultural products.

The competition was just week apart from the 2014 National Motorcylce Sports and Safety Association held at the Speedwolrd MX Circuit in Bicutan where Wayet was able to top the junior 50 cc event.
He later went on to compete in the 65 cc event and placed third in the event backed by the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee.

“We’re very proud of him. At least maski papano napapansin na rin ng city yung mga panalo natin sa competition,” said proud father Samuel.

Recently, Wayet, together with 11 year old Mia Villalon, also from Baguio city were among the recipients of the country's award giving body for motor sports.

The Golden Wheel Awards is the country's top motor sports award giving body which savors the success of inspiring Filipino drivers to pursue racing excellence through the years which is now on its 11th year.

Wayet's victory during the Mango Festival is a follow-up to his earlier victory in the same category where he also won the gold medal in the Batang Pinoy National finals way back October also held in Iba, Zambales.

The Baguio rider edged Sen Sydney Adriano of Rizal and James Altamirano of Batangas for the top poduim finish.

Wayet's journey in the word of motocross recently is fast gaining him popularity where after three races in 2011, he already landed in the podium, the highest was a second place finish in Tarlac.
